A notary is an impartial official authorized to draft authentic documents, also known as notarial deeds. These deeds formalize agreements between parties and their legal consequences. A notary is appointed by the king and must take an official oath to perform duties honestly, impartially, and accurately, strictly adhering to legislation and maintaining confidentiality about the contents of the deeds. This legislation is outlined in the Notarial Profession Act and is binding for all members and bodies of the Royal Notarial Association (KNB).

How to Become a Notary?   
To become a notary, you must complete a bachelor's and master's degree in notarial law at a university, followed by six years of practical experience as a candidate notary. During this period, you work under the supervision of a fully licensed notary.
